Just like that, we’re at the end of another month and it’s time for the second installment of our Favourite Things series. This month’s round up is a selection of fabulous finds that are all available in Dubai.
Wow, it’s Thursday again. It’s been a quiet week on the blog thanks to a few of other projects that have me spinning like a hamster on a wheel in the background here. I hope yours has been a good one so far.
Today’s topic is nursery decor – something that is, very sadly, almost all gone in our home. My daughter will need to upgrade to a ‘big girl’ bed soon and with that, all traces of her baby room will no doubt be gone. Sob. But for anyone who’s yet to embark on this fun adventure, it seems criminal not to introduce you to Sharon Montrose’s Animal Print Shop. I only wish I had known of this woman’s truly incredible work five years ago.
I’m relieved to be nearing the end of what has been a very busy week. Thursdays seem to come around so quickly, and this week I am most grateful for it. My last few posts have been decor focused so I thought it was about time to throw a little design into the ring again. This was initiated by a dear friend of mine in South Africa, who recently asked me to make something for her new home. Actually, it’s… Read more »
I’m on a bit of a mission to finish up some of the smaller projects around the house this month – you know, the ones that you put off for ages because they’re no biggie and you can get to them anytime…. but then you never do. One of these missions is to acquire some indoor plants for a space or two that need filling. The fact that we don’t have many plants is not without good reason; I am… Read more »
Well hello there, Thursday! I can’t believe that the weekend is already upon us. Yes, Thursday marks the start of the weekend here in the UAE, and it looks as though we’re in for a dusty, blustery, sand-stormy one at that. But moving swiftly onwards from the weather, I have brighter, more exiting things to share. Heather Moore is the self-taught design and illustrator talent behind the Cape Town-based label Skinny laMinx. I first discovered her Etsy store in 2012… Read more »

I came across Shea’s Instagram account a few weeks ago and have been intrigued by the beautiful images she posts. She’s an interior designer, mom of a beautiful baby girl and blogger based in California, and her work is amazing. I got in touch with her… Read more »

Phew, this has been a marathon of a DIY project! It started all the way back in January and after a few stop-start attempts, its finally complete. Let me just say that there is not much love lost between me and my new nemesis, enamel paint. Grrrrr. Bad feelings aside, I am super chuffed that its all behind me now and equally happy with the result thus far. This area remains a bit of a work-in-progress. I was a little… Read more »
Who can even believe that we have seen the end of February already!?
I had wanted to introduce a monthly ’round-up’ feature at the end of January, but with my sudden, unplanned trip to South Africa, it just never happened. Nonetheless, better late than never I say, so here it is: a round-up of some pretty little things I found online in February, all of which were spotted on Etsy.
